Discover how she turned obstacles into opportunities and continues to inspire others to embrace their unique journeys toward resilience and success.

The work ethic and resilience needed to achieve your dreams are truly inspiring. What specific obstacles did you face as a first-generation immigrant, and how did those experiences shape your perspective on entrepreneurship?

Thank you for recognizing that yes, the journey hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has taught me something invaluable. As a first-generation immigrant, I faced many obstacles, especially in navigating a new culture, language barriers, and the constant need to prove myself in ways that others didn’t have to.

Early on, I realized I would have to work twice as hard to establish myself in this country. I didn’t just want to survive; I wanted to thrive and create something that would make a real impact in my community.

One of the biggest challenges was access to resources and understanding how to build a business here. With limited networks, I had to start from scratch, learning everything on my own while finding mentors who could guide me. There were moments of doubt, of course, and times when I faced prejudice and assumptions about my abilities. But every “no” and every challenge pushed me to be more resilient. These experiences strengthened my commitment to creating a business that would serve others in meaningful ways providing high-quality home care and mental health services to those who need them the most.

These obstacles also deepened my empathy for others who are struggling to build their own legacies. That’s why I’m so passionate about mentorship and about encouraging others to see these challenges as opportunities. They helped shape my purpose and have inspired me to create a legacy that shows others what’s possible when you don’t give up.

What are some of your most memorable career highlights since you first began navigating the business landscape and your mission to help others reach their entrepreneurial goals?

Some of the most memorable moments in my career have been seeing the impact our work has had on our clients and community. When I started this journey, my focus was on solving real, pressing needs in home health and mental health care.

One unforgettable highlight was founding Alliance Home Care VNA and Alliance Lifetime Mental Health, while watching these organizations transform the lives of those we serve. Seeing the gratitude in our patients’ eyes and the relief in their families’ hearts is beyond rewarding.

Another milestone has been expanding Building Empire Legacy Group to guide other entrepreneurs in branding, marketing, and business growth. There’s something so special about empowering others to find their own success, and nothing compares to seeing a client achieve their vision with the confidence we help cultivate. From launching a client’s business to celebrating their first major milestone, each of these experiences solidifies why I do what I do.

Every challenge, every accomplishment, and every life touched along the way fuels my mission to provide quality care and strategic guidance that make a lasting difference.

What has been the greatest lesson you’ve learned throughout your career that made you successful today?

The greatest lesson I’ve learned is the power of resilience and the importance of trusting your own vision, no matter how difficult the path may seem.

Starting out as a first-generation immigrant, I had to push through countless obstacles whether it was navigating a new culture, learning the ins and outs of business, or facing setbacks that tested my strength and faith. Each challenge taught me that setbacks are often setups for something greater.

The key is to stay committed to your purpose and understand that success doesn’t happen overnight. You have to be willing to work harder than anyone else, adapt when things don’t go as planned, and never lose sight of why you started. This resilience and unwavering dedication to my goals have been the foundation of everything I’ve achieved, and it’s what I hope to pass on to others. In the end, if you’re driven by purpose and refuse to give up, success is inevitable.

Behind the scenes, what went into writing From Immigrant to CEO and how did you feel when you completed the book?

First, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my co-author, Enuka Joseph. She was an incredible help throughout the entire process of bringing this book to life. Enuka conducted interviews, did the research, and together, we crafted my story in a way I had always dreamed of. I’ve always wanted to be an author, but I wasn’t sure where to begin, Enuka was exactly the support I needed.

When it came time for me to review and add my own voice to the pages, it was such a peaceful experience. Writing and seeing my journey come to life on paper brought back so many memories, allowing me to relive each step of my story. It has truly been a meaningful journey, and I’m so grateful to have had Enuka Joseph by my side through it all.

Could you provide us with details on your upcoming book release event? What message do you plan to share with attendees, and what can they expect from the experience?

As an influential business leader, how would you describe your leadership style?

I’d describe my leadership style as empowering and collaborative. I believe that every member of a team brings their unique strengths to the table, and as a leader, it’s my role to nurture those strengths and provide the support and resources needed to help them thrive. I value open communication, transparency, and accountability, and I strive to create an environment where everyone feels respected, encouraged, and motivated to do their best work. The mission and impact of Alliance Home Care VNA and Alliance Lifetime Mental Health, focuses on filling critical healthcare gaps and providing mental wellness support. How can others who aspire to enter the mental health and wellness fields help you on this journey?

Those who aspire to enter the mental health and wellness fields can play a vital role in our journey by embracing the same commitment to compassionate, quality care that drives us at Alliance Home Care VNA and Alliance Lifetime Mental Health. We need individuals who are passionate, open-minded, and ready to make a difference in people’s lives. Whether you’re a clinician, counselor, administrator, or support staff, every role in this field has the potential to profoundly impact our clients and communities.

I encourage those interested to gain as much knowledge as possible, stay informed on best practices, and, most importantly, prioritize the dignity and unique needs of each individual you serve. By joining hands, we can build stronger, healthier communities and create a supportive network that meets the mental and physical health needs of so many who are often underserved. Together, we can make an enduring impact.

How do you hope to continue making a difference? Please tell us about some of your future endeavors and aspirations.

I hope to continue making a difference by empowering others to follow a similar path of building impactful businesses in the healthcare and mental health fields. One of my greatest aspirations is to help others create and grow their own home care agencies and mental health facilities. There is such a vast need for these services, and I believe that by sharing the knowledge and experience I’ve gained, we can expand access to quality care for communities everywhere.

In the future, I plan to offer consulting, training programs, and one-on-one guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs who want to establish their own agencies. My goal is to support others not only in the technical aspects of starting a business but also in creating a mission-driven, compassionate approach to care that truly serves. By lifting others up and helping them grow their businesses, we can build a legacy of care and innovation in the healthcare industry together.
