Portia Jones, also known as Doctor Financial got that name from the beginning due to her being known as the Tax Goat. She works all year round with all sorts of financial situations. Portia is also a mom and we are here to celebrate her accomplished and influential career as a Mompreneur. Portia Jones is the proud mother of 4 beautiful children.
As a money expert, and owner of Just The 2 Of Us Financial she has tapped into the industries of financial literacy, taxes, brokerage, real estate, and credit to name a few services that she offers her clients. From humble beginnings, born and raised in Chester, Pennslyvania, Portia’s expertise, personal experiences, and knowledge have made her the go-to mentor in Atlanta and beyond for those who are seeking business funding, credit repair, tax guidance, and overall finance knowledge that leads to generational wealth.

What has life been like as a mom and business owner?
Portia: It’s been trying and beneficial. Meaning I have learned some of my most valuable life lessons as being both a mother and a business owner. For example how to manage time, how to manage money, and how to invest.
We understand that you’re currently working on writing children’s books to teach our youth the importance of learning about money as they grow up and for the future. What else can you share with us about this?
Portia: It will be sold on Amazon and also barns and noble.
What is an average day like at Just The 2 Of Us Financial?
Portia: At 6 am I wake up to get my children off to school and feed my 9 month old daughter.
At 9 am everyone is gone so then I do my meditation.
At 10:30 am I check my daily planner for meetings, school functions, doctor appointments, etc
At 11:30 am I head out to any scheduled agenda.
At 2 pm I take my daughter to the park and walk for an hour.
At 4 pm I start dinner.
At 5 pm I end my work day by writing in my daily planner anything that needs to be carried over and I make my end-of-the-day calls.
At 7 pm I feed the children and work until bedtime which is at 10 pm.
As you continue to teach financial literacy to all ages, what are three tips our readers should know?
Portia: My messages/purpose of the books always will be in the front and the end.
Practices make perfect.
And use these books and Family time as they will have short stories in there as well.
What impact do you aspire to make on the world as Doctor Financial?
Portia: I like to change families one household at a time.
