Can you tell us a bit about your role with the Chargers Impact Fund and how it aligns with your personal values?
As the Fundraising Manager for the Chargers Impact Fund, I have the opportunity to lead initiatives that support under-resourced communities. It’s incredibly fulfilling to create programs that provide access and opportunities where they are most needed. This role aligns perfectly with my personal values of compassion, service, and leadership. Throughout my career, I’ve been dedicated to making a positive impact, and the Chargers Impact Fund gives me the platform to do that on a larger scale.
You’ve been involved in a number of community service initiatives. Can you tell us about your work with the Children’s Needs Task Force in Huntington Beach?
The Children’s Needs Task Force in Huntington Beach is a cause very close to my heart. I served on the task force to ensure the needs of local children were being met, especially those facing adversity. We worked closely with schools, health professionals, and local organizations to identify and address gaps in services, advocating for policies and programs that uplift children and their families.
You also worked with the Tim Tebow Foundation’s ‘Night to Shine.’ What was that experience like?
‘Night to Shine’ is an incredible event that celebrates individuals with special needs. Working with the Tim Tebow Foundation on this project was such a rewarding experience. It’s a prom night designed to make each guest feel like royalty, and the energy and joy in the room are contagious. Seeing the smiles on their faces is a reminder of why I’m so passionate about what I do.
You’ve been involved in a wide range of organizations, from CASA to Surfrider. What drives your involvement in such diverse causes?
I’ve always believed in the importance of giving back, no matter the focus. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) allows me to advocate for vulnerable children in the foster care system, while my involvement with Surfrider reflects my commitment to environmental preservation. Each organization touches on a different aspect of community service, whether it’s protecting our natural environment or standing up for those who need a voice.
You mentioned your company, Brand-Aid-Society, was focused on CSR and brand building. What inspired you to start it, and how did it impact your community?
Brand-Aid-Society was born from my desire to merge corporate social responsibility (CSR) with brand-building efforts. I wanted to create a business model that not only helped companies grow but also encouraged them to give back to their communities. We raised significant funds for causes ranging from education to environmental initiatives. It was a rewarding experience to see how businesses could make a real difference when aligned with impactful community outreach.
You were involved in organizing the largest paddle-out event for the Huntington Beach International Surf Museum, which even made it into the Guinness World Records. Can you tell us more about that event?
That was such an exciting and meaningful project! We wanted to celebrate the surfing culture of Huntington Beach while also raising awareness for important local causes. The event brought together hundreds of surfers, and breaking the Guinness World Record was just the icing on the cake. The sense of community was overwhelming, and it demonstrated how a shared passion could lead to something truly special.
What role have organizations like Kiwanis and Rotary played in your community work?
Being part of Kiwanis and Rotary has been an incredible way to connect with other like-minded individuals who are passionate about service. These organizations are great platforms for community leaders to come together, share ideas, and collaborate on initiatives that uplift our communities. Whether it’s organizing events, fundraising, or simply showing up for those in need, they’ve been integral to the work I’ve done over the years.
How has your work with Waste Not OC contributed to the fight against food insecurity?
Waste Not OC is an amazing initiative focused on reducing food waste and ensuring that surplus food goes to those in need. Through this program, we worked with local businesses, restaurants, and nonprofits to redistribute unused food to food banks and shelters. It’s been a privilege to be part of a movement that not only tackles food insecurity but also promotes sustainability.
What advice would you give to someone looking to get involved in community service or philanthropy?
My biggest advice would be to find a cause you’re passionate about and start small. There are countless ways to make a difference, whether it’s volunteering your time, donating, or simply spreading awareness. When you focus on what matters to you, the work will feel fulfilling and authentic. Also, don’t be afraid to get creative! Sometimes the best ideas come from thinking outside the box and collaborating with others.
You’ve raised millions through your efforts with Brand-Aid-Society. What was the key to creating successful fundraising campaigns?
The key to successful fundraising lies in building authentic relationships and aligning the cause with the values of the donors. At Brand-Aid-Society, we focused on creating campaigns that resonated emotionally and intellectually with our target audiences. It’s important to communicate the direct impact their contribution will make. Transparency and consistent updates help maintain trust and encourage long-term support. I also believe in the power of storytelling to humanize the cause and show real-life examples of how the funds are changing lives.
How does your involvement in community organizations like Surfrider and CASA reflect your personal mission?
Both Surfrider and CASA align with my deep belief in nurturing and protecting both people and the planet. With Surfrider, I focus on environmental sustainability and the protection of our coastlines, which is crucial for future generations. On the other hand, CASA allows me to advocate for children who need support and representation within the foster care system. My personal mission is to leave the world better than I found it, and both organizations offer opportunities to make a significant, tangible impact in two very different but important areas.
What was your role at the Tim Tebow Foundation’s “Night to Shine,” and how did it impact the community?
As the Event Chair for Tim Tebow Foundation’s “Night to Shine,” I was responsible for overseeing every detail, ensuring it was an unforgettable prom experience for individuals with special needs. I assembled an amazing team, and together we fundraised over $300k in just four months, allowing us to throw the ultimate prom where everything was complimentary for our 300 guests. From formal gowns and tuxedos to a red carpet extravaganza, every aspect of the night was designed to celebrate our attendees.
We had a “glitz and glam” room for hair, makeup, and shoe-shining, plus entertainment, dancing, and a DJ to keep the party going. Each guest was crowned king or queen, and we made sure every single need—dietary, auditory, visual, physical—was accommodated. With a 1,000-strong volunteer team, the support was overwhelming and heartfelt.
One of the most touching aspects was our respite room for parents and caregivers, offering a 5-star meal, entertainment, and swag bags—some of them experiencing their first-ever break from their caregiving role.
I had the privilege of chairing this event two years in a row, and the impact on the community was tremendous. It was more than just a night of fun; it was an evening of inclusion, joy, and connection. Watching the smiles, laughter, and tears of happiness, I saw firsthand how this event uplifted both the guests and their families, leaving an indelible mark on everyone involved.
