What inspired you to pursue acting as a career?
Acting has always been a part of my life. My grandmother would produce plays for the Boys and Girls Club when I was a kid, which encouraged me to do school plays, and that grew my passion even more.
How did you prepare for your very first audition?
I love to have a couple of different friends come together and help critique me to make me better and I love getting the different feedback from them.
What acting techniques or methods have you trained in?
There are no specific techniques in which I’ve been trained, but I do love going to workshops where actors are the teacher because I love the way they teach; it’s from experience and that’s the best form of teaching.
What is the best piece of advice you have received so far?
The best advice I ever received was, “ Every no you get is not a bad thing. No’s builds up confidence, experience, and knowledge.”
Who are some of your favorite actresses of recent years?
Definitely Taraji P. Henson, especially after seeing her in Acrimony. She is so captivating with any role she’s in and she kills every role she gets, which is so inspiring.
What advice would you give to other aspiring actresses just starting out?
The best advice I could give is don’t be afraid to step out your comfort zone, because you could be blocking your opportunities by being afraid. And network, network, network is one of the biggest things to do to get connected in the industry.
Are there any directors or actors/actresses you dream to work with in the future?
This list could go on forever but to name a few; Angela Bassett, Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson.
Where do you see your acting career in the next five years?
I see myself with a small role on a new exciting comedy show.
Can you tell us about your upcoming film or TV projects?
YES!, There’s a new film that I’m in called Heart Full of Hope with The Mendez Foundation. The film is about the importance of kidney donations and how you can even help people all over who are in need. Just working the on the film, I learned a lot about the process and how easy it is to donate. I love working on films that bring awareness about topics that are not discussed enough.
