A new season of The Mic Africa will conclude on October 30 after seven successful episodes.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA, October 10, 2022 — The Mic, a revolutionary and award-winning talent competition bringing the best of African creatives across the entertainment sector together is rapidly approaching the end of its third season.

Desiree Peterkin Bell, a global communication strategist and advisor for The Mic Africa, previously promised this year’s edition of the show would be without equal and extra loaded. The show has held up this promise over the first several episodes and will continue in style to the grand finale on October 30.

 The Mic Africa: Season 3

The Mic’s epic season

The Mic: Africa is the top talent competition in Africa leading up to its third season launching on September 18.

Hollywood actor, CEO, and Founder of TBTM Studios, Derrick Ashong served as the host of the 5xTelly Award-winning show. The groundbreaking show harnesses the power of African music, arts, and culture to connect with a new generation globally.

At the same time, the profile of artists at the center of Africa’s creative landscape receives new exposure both on the larger continent and overseas. For the third season, a new milestone was reached with women receiving eight of the 10 local filmmaker spots in the exclusive competition. The Mic isn’t limited to one or two places on the Africa map. Instead, it visits creatives across 10 different countries.

Desiree Peterkin Bell breaks down the season

After five episodes focused on country semifinals, The Mic Africa concludes with a Road to the Finale program on October 23 and the grand finale episode on October 30.

In a new twist for season three, the parent company of TBTM Studios — the team behind The Mic — received fresh capital investments from MaC Venture capital to grow the unique TBTM blockchain video platform. The platform helps fans of The Mic profit from engaging and promoting the program via a rewards program.

TBTM is behind the world’s first blockchain video platform and has a dual-reward setup benefiting both creators and fans who design a larger movement around unique, high-quality content.

Desiree Peterkin Bell advises the success of TBTM’s five Telly wins for The Mic Africa and it cannot be understated as the company faced stiff competition from long-established brands, such as Netflix, HBO, and Disney+. Additional awards for the series include a Murex D’Or and a Monaco Streaming Award.

TBTM Studios maintains multiple offices with its latest branch opening in Dubai. Additional locations are in Mauritius, East Africa; Hollywood California and Buenos Aires, Brazil.

Desiree Peterkin Bell will also serve as the Executive Producer of the second Annual Take Back Interactive Festival, which will take place November 11th -12th. Last year’s TBTM Interactive virtual Festival has the theme of Connecting the Continents, Connecting the Culture.  Featured speakers included Dr. Deepak Chopra, Aja Naomi King, Mustafa Shakir, Baratunde Thurston, and thought leaders across Business, Tech, Impact, Media & Entertainment, and Fashion. This year, the virtual festival returns with the theme Remixing the Renaissance: Culture and Technology in the New Global South and a whole new roster of powerful leaders in their fields.
