Drawing on more than 15 years of experience as a board-certified spine surgeon, Dr. Gbolahan Okubadejo serves as the chief surgeon at The Institute for Comprehensive Spine Care, a facility he founded in 2010 that provides care to patients in New Jersey and New York. Over the past decade and a half, he has expanded The Institute for Comprehensive Spine Care to include a presence in Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Jersey City, Englewood, and Clifton. Dr. Gbolahan Okubadejo provides both surgical and conservative treatment for a wide range of orthopedic spine issues, including disc replacement, laminectomies, sciatica care, and treatment for herniated discs.

Dr. Okubadejo graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in biology and African-American studies from Brown University, then prepared for his career by earning a medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Subsequently, he undertook an orthopedic surgery residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital  at the Washington University School of Medicine, earning the Leonard Marmor Award and a research grant award from the Cervical Spine Research Society. He also undertook a spine surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

In addition to his work in the clinical setting, Dr. Okubadejo has written and published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals on orthopedic spinal topics, such as pedicle subtraction osteotomy and esophageal perforation. He has had his research published in the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics and the American Journal of Orthopaedics. Moreover, he has presented his findings at events in the Bahamas and Brazil, in addition to the United States.

A vocal advocate of core strength for stabilizing the spine, Dr. Okubadejo invented a core exercise tool called the 360 CoreBoard that helps patients to support their lower back through the development of their core muscles. In addition to overseeing The Institute for Comprehensive Spine Care, he serves as the CEO of 360 Dynamized Core, which produces and sells the 360 CoreBoard. In addition to providing the 360 CoreBoard to patients through The Institute for Comprehensive Spine Care, he also provides personalized treatment through a comprehensive care team that includes a nutritionist, chiropractor, and an exercise physiologist.

Before founding The Institute for Comprehensive Spine Care, Dr. Okubadejo spent two years working at Active Joint Orthopedics in New Jersey. In his free time, he enjoys maintaining a high level of fitness and engaging in a variety of active pursuits. He also plays golf and travels whenever his schedule allows.
