IPM:  What inspired you to start to Be Jeweled by Lisette? Did you have a love for jewelry?

Lisette:  Growing up, I always liked to dress up and I loved accessorizing my outfits with beautiful jewelry.  I always felt like accessories were an expression of your personal style.  I started Be Jeweled By Lisette right at the onset of COVID.   The work dynamic changed dramatically and almost everyone worked 100% remotely, and mostly via Zoom.  Many were forced to turn on the camera during meetings.  And let’s be honest, we wanted to look our best from the waist up.  So it was fitting to sell amazing jewelry starting at $5 to assist with creating a polished, professional look during Zoom calls.

IPM:  Can you share with us your business plan for Be Jeweled by Lisette?

Lisette:  My business plan for Be Jeweled By Lisette is to continue to integrate my products into the fashion/pageant industry.  I’d also love to continue to style models, Influencers and celebrities  with my jewelry.  My plan is for Be Jeweled By Lisette to become a household name.

IPM:  Many people would love to walk the runway in New York Fashion Week, can you share with us your experience participating in it?

Lisette:  My experiences walking in NYFW has been amazing.  The first time I walked, my daughter Taikirha Miller, encouraged me to do so and also gave me walking lessons.   For me, being able to represent a designer’s work is humbling.  And the people you meet along the way through networking is a double bonus.

IPM:   How did your journey present you with the opportunity to walk in New York Fashion Week?

Lisette:  My passion for fashion presented me with the opportunity to walk in New York Fashion Week.  Being behind the scenes and marveling at all the work that goes into putting on a great show spiked my curiosity to be on stages.  I was eventually approached to be a model, and although nervous because I lacked experience, I seized the opportunity.

IPM:  What’s the best lesson you would say your daughter has taught you?

Lisette:  The best lesson my daughter has taught me is to push yourself until you’re uncomfortable. I have tried things that I would have never thought were possible, partly because of fear of failure.  But I watch her try different things to find her niche, and it constantly reinforces the fact that

nothing is out of reach.  It definitely has taught me to dream bigger and to push harder.

IPM:  Can you share with us a little sneak peek of your next business plan?

Lisette:  My next business plan is to focus on branding and monetizing my business. I also want my business to eventually be a sponsor for a major pageant system.

IPM:   What inspires you to push hard every day?

Lisette:  My inspiration to push hard every day is simple.  I push hard for my family to create generational wealth.

IPM:  You’re an incredibly busy and successful mom, can you share some tips with us on how you manage to remain functional at the end of the day?

Lisette:  For me, remaining  functional at the end of a busy day requires me to claim some “me time”.  It’s important for me to find a few minutes where I can unload the stress from the day.  I often find that by turning off the tv, setting the cell phone aside, lights out, and just sitting in peace to recharge and refocus.

IPM:  What do you think is the biggest challenge faced by mothers in the workplace?

Lisette:  I think the biggest challenge faced by mothers in the workplace is work life balance.  As we all know, raising a family is rewarding, yet also challenging at times.  Having the ability to balance the two is no easy task and requires sacrifices at work and at home.  I’m very lucky that my full time job is at a Fortune 100 company which fosters and supports work life balance. I

IPM:  Did raising your daughter taught you any skills that you were able to apply to your professional life?

Lisette:  The skills I can apply to my professional life from  raising my daughter is time management, multi-tasking and effective communication.  She’s busy.  I’m busy.

But what works for us is effectively communicating with each other, respecting each other’s schedule, and multi-tasking so we are able to take advantage of opportunities that come our way.

IPM:   Society tends to guilt women for being successful, do you feel any guilt or pressure for ensuring your success?

Lisette:  I don’t feel any guilt out pressure for ensuring my success.  My only competition is myself and I’m going to keep pushing myself until I’ve reached the goals I’ve set for myself, while readjusting them when needed.

IPM:  What’s something you would like to share with our readers about creating a path to success?

Lisette:  When creating a path to success, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.   Take the shot!   Plan, Create, Manifest, Repeat!
