What inspired you to start NTAG and focus on homeowners in distress?

I’ve always believed that real estate should be about more than just transactions—it’s about people. Early in my career, I realized there was a gap in the industry when it came to helping homeowners facing foreclosure. They were often overlooked, misunderstood, or taken advantage of. That didn’t sit right with me. Jake and I started NTAG because we wanted to be the people who stepped in with real solutions, not empty promises. For us, it’s about helping families preserve their equity, avoid unnecessary financial strain, and move forward with confidence.

How do you approach working with homeowners who are overwhelmed by foreclosure?

First and foremost, we listen. When someone is facing foreclosure, they’re dealing with a whirlwind of emotions—fear, frustration, and sometimes even shame. The last thing they need is someone talking at them or making them feel worse. At NTAG, we take the time to understand their story and their goals. From there, we focus on simplifying the process and presenting clear, actionable options. My goal is always to help homeowners feel empowered rather than overwhelmed.

What’s one of the biggest misconceptions homeowners have about foreclosure?

Many people think foreclosure is the end of the road, but it’s not. It’s a process, and there are multiple stages where homeowners can take action to protect themselves. Another misconception is that they’re completely powerless once they’ve fallen behind on payments. That’s simply not true. There are always options—whether it’s negotiating with the lender, exploring a loan modification, or selling the property before foreclosure. The key is acting early, and that’s where we step in to help.

How does NTAG’s approach differ from other real estate firms?

We’re not just focused on the deal—we’re focused on the person behind the property. At NTAG, we see ourselves as problem solvers and advocates for homeowners. We don’t use cookie-cutter solutions because every situation is different. Whether it’s providing legal guidance, negotiating with lenders, or facilitating a quick home sale, we tailor our approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Our commitment to integrity and transparency is what sets us apart.

What do you think is the most challenging part of foreclosure prevention?

The hardest part is often breaking through the fear and hesitation that homeowners feel. Many people avoid taking action because they’re overwhelmed or embarrassed by their situation. They think reaching out for help is a sign of failure, but it’s not—it’s the smartest thing you can do. Convincing people to take that first step and trust us to guide them is both the biggest challenge and the most rewarding part of what we do.

What role does empathy play in your work?

Empathy is everything. You can’t effectively help someone if you don’t understand what they’re going through. When a homeowner is at risk of losing their home, it’s not just about money—it’s about their sense of security, their family’s stability, and often their pride. We approach every case with compassion and respect, making sure people feel heard and valued. At the end of the day, our goal is to leave them better off than when we met them, both financially and emotionally.

How do you stay calm under the pressure of working with distressed properties?

Real estate, especially when it involves foreclosure, can be high-pressure and emotional. I’ve learned that staying calm comes from focusing on the solution rather than the problem. It’s about breaking the situation into manageable steps and addressing them one at a time. Having a great team at NTAG also helps—when you trust the people you work with, it’s easier to handle the tough moments.

What advice would you give to homeowners who feel stuck in the foreclosure process?

Don’t wait to take action. The longer you wait, the fewer options you’ll have, and the harder it will be to turn things around. Start by reaching out to your lender to explore possible solutions, or contact a professional who understands the foreclosure process, like NTAG. There’s no shame in asking for help—it’s the best thing you can do for yourself and your family.

What’s the most rewarding part of your work?

It’s seeing the relief on a homeowner’s face when they realize there’s a way forward. Whether we’re helping someone keep their home or ensuring they walk away with their equity intact, it’s incredibly fulfilling to know we’ve made a positive impact. For me, success is about leaving people in a better place than where we found them.

How do you see NTAG growing in the future?

Our goal is to continue expanding our reach and helping more homeowners across Texas. The need for foreclosure prevention services isn’t going away, and we want to be the trusted resource that people turn to in tough times. We’re always looking for ways to improve our processes, leverage technology, and strengthen our team so we can provide even better support to our clients.

Beau Gumbert’s unwavering dedication to helping homeowners in distress reflects his belief in the power of empathy, integrity, and action. His work at NTAG continues to provide hope and solutions to families facing foreclosure, proving that even the most challenging situations can be opportunities for growth and renewal.
