What does your typical day look like, and how do you make it productive?
My day starts early. I like to arrive before everyone else, check the shop, and plan the schedule. I organize jobs by priority: safety-related repairs first, then diagnostics, and finally maintenance.
I believe productivity comes from good planning and clear communication with the team. Every morning I talk with my partner, Volodymyr, to review ongoing projects — he focuses on the electrical and hybrid systems, while I oversee diagnostics and mechanical repairs. Together we balance experience and innovation.
How do you bring ideas to life?
Most ideas come from real challenges in the shop. If we notice something that can be done faster or with better quality, we test it and improve our process.
Volodymyr often brings new technical ideas, especially related to modern electrical systems, hybrids, and EVs. He has a natural talent for solving complex wiring and module problems. I come from the traditional mechanical side, so together we combine old-school precision with new-generation technology.
What’s one trend that excites you?
The future of hybrid and electric vehicles. The industry is changing fast, and having someone like Volodymyr, who’s passionate about new technologies, helps us stay ahead. I’m excited that our shop can service both the classic European cars and the newest electric ones with equal expertise.
What is one habit of yours that helps you be productive?
Organization. I always plan the next day before leaving the shop. Tools, parts, and workflow must be in order — it saves time and prevents mistakes. Volodymyr does the same with his diagnostic equipment and software updates; he’s always ready for the next challenge.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Be patient and stay true to your standards. Never compromise on quality. Also, don’t try to do everything alone — great things happen when you work with people who share your passion and values, like Volodymyr does today.
Tell us something you believe that almost nobody agrees with you on.
That a mechanic’s job can be both old-school and high-tech at the same time. Many think you have to choose between experience and innovation — but I believe you can combine both. Our shop proves it every day.
What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?
Always double-check your work before delivering the car. Even when it looks perfect, take a few extra minutes to verify everything. It’s the best way to maintain trust and avoid comebacks.
When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?
I take a short walk around the shop or step outside. Sometimes I talk with Volodymyr — discussing technical problems often brings back my focus. We both enjoy problem-solving, so even a quick chat about a complex electrical issue clears the mind.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career?
Building trust through transparency. From my mobile mechanic days to running a full workshop, I’ve always shown customers what we do and why. Clear communication and honesty are the foundation of our business.
Adding Volodymyr to the team helped us expand — now we can repair everything from classic Porsche engines to advanced hybrid systems under one roof.
What is one failure in your career, how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?
In the beginning, I tried to handle everything myself — work, scheduling, estimates. It led to burnout. I learned that success means building a strong team and sharing responsibility.
Now, having Volodymyr as my business partner reminds me every day how much more we can achieve when we trust and complement each other’s skills.
What is one business idea you’re willing to give away to our readers?
Focus on specialization and people. Find your niche, become the best at it, and surround yourself with people who bring different strengths.
Experience and innovation should never compete — they should cooperate.
What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?
We rely on professional diagnostic software for European and hybrid vehicles. It helps us document each step, read complex data, and communicate results clearly to customers.
Volodymyr is especially good at using advanced electrical schematics and programming tools — that’s his playground.
What is the best $100 you recently spent?
A new set of inspection lamps. Good lighting changes everything — it helps us spot leaks, cracks, and damaged wiring. Small things like that make big differences in precision.
Do you have a favorite book or podcast (or both) you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?
I enjoy listening to stories from shop owners who built their businesses from scratch. They remind me that persistence, not luck, creates real success.
What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?
“Drive to Survive.” It shows teamwork, precision, and pressure — just like in a workshop. Every mechanic and engineer has a story behind success, and I can relate to that energy.
