Thank you for having me. My passion for flowers began when I worked in various flower shops for about five years. I was drawn to the beauty and the joy that flowers bring to people’s lives. Working in these shops, I learned a lot about the business and the artistry involved, which sparked my passion and drove me to pursue a career in floristry.

What inspired you to start your own business in 2018?

I was inspired by the success stories of young entrepreneurs I followed on Instagram. Seeing their achievements made me believe that I could turn my passion into a thriving business. With a strong desire to create something of my own and the knowledge I gained from my previous jobs, I decided to take the leap and start my own floral business.

Starting a business can be challenging, especially as a first-generation entrepreneur. What were some of the obstacles you faced, and how did you overcome them?

One of the biggest challenges was the lack of familial or communal business guidance. I had to navigate the business world largely on my own. Securing a business loan was another significant hurdle. I overcame these challenges by staying resourceful, continuously learning, and seeking advice from mentors and fellow entrepreneurs. Persistence and a clear vision were key to overcoming these obstacles.

How do you stay inspired and motivated in your work?

Staying inspired comes naturally when you love what you do. I find motivation in the beauty of flowers and the happiness they bring to people. Additionally, I’m inspired by the continuous evolution of the floral industry and the opportunity to innovate and create unique designs. Seeing the positive impact of my work on customers keeps me motivated every day.

My approach to floral design is to blend traditional beauty with modern innovation. I draw inspiration from nature and current design trends, aiming for simplicity and natural aesthetics. What sets my work apart is the use of upcycled materials and sustainable practices, ensuring that each arrangement is not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly.

Sustainability is a significant trend in the floristry industry. How do you incorporate eco-friendly practices into your business?

Sustainability is a core value for my business. We prioritize sourcing flowers locally to reduce our carbon footprint and use biodegradable materials whenever possible. Additionally, we recycle and repurpose materials in our shop. By integrating these practices, we ensure that our business contributes positively to the environment.

One of the most memorable moments was when we successfully completed our first major event decoration.
