I went to school for performing arts as a child and I was highly active in sports and performing on stage and I have had a bit of experience in showbiz with front-of-the-scenes and behind-the-scenes. In 2004, I was signed to a record label with a 4-girl gospel singing group and I also became a solo rap artist. In 2005, I went to school for broadcasting in radio and television and from there I started my own video production company, mostly specializing in weddings, commercials, and much more. I have experience in healthcare administration for over 14 years and 12 years of experience in church development.
I’ve been building an entertainment company and putting its operations together since 2013. The company is a networking, educational, rehabilitation center on wheels. I’m using the doors in the industry in charity, business, music, and film to allow others to get to fulfill their dreams and visions.
The Charity is designed to help 300 men get 6 figure incomes, a vehicle, a home, and a platform where we teach them how to create wealth and success by using their own gifts and talents to open these opportunities in the industry for their families. The Business is a networking entity and a vehicle to get to the next level of life. It works for visionaries and simply see what it is they are lacking in their business and then train the dreamers to come help build the visions together. The Music is designed to create employment opportunities for our clientele that are looking for their dream job after they have healed and trained for their new life. The Film is designed to create platforms for our clientele as they go through the process it takes to fulfill their dream.
Tell us about Shay-J Entertainment.
Shay-J Entertainment is a public-private organization that offers a great deal of education and opportunities. We are public that we exist but private with our services to our members. Our business is to help others by using our gifts and talents. We provide business and services for unique partners and clients. If someone needs to find someone or some resource that is rare, Shay-J Entertainment is the place to come to. It provides visions for visionaries and dreams for dreamers and then pair them up to help each other. The business works for bosses and simply see what it is their lacking in their business and then train the dreamers to come help build the vision together. We also financially educate the clientele, so they understand how money works for them and how to keep it after they get it.
How are you helping artists today?
Many people will not make it in the industry unless they either know someone or you are born into it. Having those two on my side, I begin to understand that people need someone to open that door. A lot of doors come to me that I don’t necessarily want, so I decided to give my doors to that artist that needs the next push, allowing a new movement to take place for artists we’ve never seen. I look for an artist that is not afraid to perform their truth with confidence and respect for others that do the same. I look for artists that are unique but they need some help in areas that would normally be impossible for that artist to become who they know they are destined to be. I look for artists that can move others.
2021 is a big year for you and your company. What are your goals for this year?
My goal is to launch the existence of my company. I want to let everyone know that I am here and I’m looking for teams all over the world to help me continue to meet the goals of visionaries and dreamers so we can create jobs. I will be throwing a yacht party charity event to celebrate the launch this year with some high-profile attendees that also provide jobs for communities. I will be taping a tv show to capture the moments for the world to see this launch.
What are you most proud of?
I’m mostly proud of visionaries who had a dream and they executed it and made it real for someone else. I’m proud of myself for being able to humble myself and allow myself to go through my own program in order to help the people that I attract so they can have an example of how to activate themselves from wherever they are at. I’m proud of all the survivors who survived something that was designed to take them out.
How are you including charity into your platform?
I have such a love to help others and I created my business and platform just to fund the love to help them. My Charity branch consists of a ministry and school. Many artists need healing before they can be comfortable with the next level of success, so I created a mobile ministry called HoLy Ghost Busters that’s designed to help our clients heal, grow, and see the beauty of what they have gone through. It is deliverance from yourself, therapy for yourself, and commitment to yourself. Once our clientele has a new slate and clear mindset that our program and services provide, we have a school to enroll them in called The Shay-Jency, a place to live, learn, and launch your dreams. Once you become a Shayjent, you can have access to the business branch and have access to the doors in my career to help you get to the next level of life.
What is your best advice for artists who want to work with you?
The best advice I will tell an artist that wants to work with me is to be your true self upfront. Tell the truth as to what you truly need help with. I want you to win and I can’t help you if you don’t help yourself. Artists will notice that everything that they thought was right for them was completely wrong for them. They will notice that they will truly be protected and notice the passion I have for them to get to the next level.
You connected many artists. How important are connections and relationship building?
In this industry, especially now, connections and relationship building are so very important because it will determine how successful you can be in the industry. With the pandemic nearly crushing a lot of jobs in the entertainment industry, you definitely need to know someone who knows how to maneuver around with the new changes in the world. I network daily and build relationships in every way possible in order to get as many doors opened for my Shayjents.
What is next for Shay-J Entertainment?
Shay-J Entertainment is launching itself out on a few platforms this year. There will be a mobile ministry opening, a new podcast show, and a new animation movie and tv series. Many projects will be opening soon.
