What inspired you to pursue a career in insurance, and how has your journey evolved since becoming a State Farm agent in 2020?
I’ve always been passionate about helping people, and insurance felt like a natural way to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives. When I became a State Farm agent on January 1, 2020, I saw it as more than just a career, it was a mission. Over the past five years, I’ve focused on building relationships with my clients, treating them like family, and being there for them during life’s toughest moments. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m proud of the milestones we’ve achieved, from earning prestigious awards to becoming one of Ohio’s top-performing agencies.
Your agency has achieved remarkable success, including earning a spot in the Chairman’s Circle. What do you believe sets your agency apart from others in the industry?
I believe what sets us apart is our people-first approach. We don’t just sell insurance; we build lifelong relationships. My team and I take the time to understand our clients’ unique needs, dreams, and challenges. We focus on providing comprehensive protection and peace of mind, especially during their most difficult days. The recognition we’ve received, like the Chairman’s Circle, is a reflection of the trust our clients place in us and the dedication we bring to every interaction.
You’ve mentioned that your role is to be “the best part of people’s worst days.” Can you share a specific story where you felt you truly made a difference in a client’s life?
One story that stands out is when a family came to us after a devastating house fire. They had lost so much, and it was an incredibly emotional time for them. My team and I worked tirelessly to ensure their claims process was smooth and that they had the financial support they needed to rebuild. It wasn’t just about cutting a check, it was about being there for them, listening to their concerns, and helping them navigate a very difficult situation. Knowing we could provide some comfort and stability during such a challenging time is why I do what I do.
Community involvement is clearly a priority for you. What motivates your agency to give back, and how has your work in Lima, Ohio, impacted the local community?
Giving back is at the core of who I am and what my agency stands for. Lima, Ohio, is my home, and I believe a successful business has a responsibility to support the community that supports it. During the pandemic, we gave away $1,000 in free gas to help families struggling with financial strain. We also participate in local events like parades, festivals, and car shows, and we regularly support food banks and clothing drives. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact these efforts have on our neighbors and to know we’re making a difference beyond just providing insurance.
As one of State Farm’s top life insurance agents, what advice would you give to families who are considering life insurance but may feel overwhelmed by the process?
My advice is to start by having an honest conversation about your goals and what matters most to you. Life insurance can feel overwhelming, but it’s really about protecting the people you love and ensuring their future is secure. I always tell my clients that it’s not about selling a policy, it’s about creating peace of mind. My team and I are here to guide families through the process, answer their questions, and make sure they feel confident in their decisions.
Balancing a successful career, community service, and family life is no small feat. How do you maintain that balance, and what role does your faith play in your personal and professional life?
Balance is everything to me. My family is my foundation, they inspire and support me every step of the way. My faith also plays a huge role in keeping me grounded and focused on what truly matters. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, running, and playing piano at my church, where my wife and I have helped with the music department for seven years. These personal passions aren’t separate from my professional life, they fuel my ability to serve others effectively and with purpose.
Looking ahead, what are your goals for the next five years, both for your agency and for your continued impact on the Lima, Ohio, community?
Over the next five years, my goal is to continue building strong relationships with my clients and helping them protect what matters most. I want to expand our reach in the Lima, Ohio community, finding new ways to give back and support local families. Professionally, I aim to maintain our position as one of Ohio’s top-performing State Farm agencies while continuing to innovate and adapt to meet our clients’ evolving needs. Ultimately, my mission remains the same: to provide exceptional service and make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of those we serve.
