What school did you graduate from?

Clyde: I just graduated from SUNY Oswego with my Bachelor’s in Broadcasting and Mass Communication; SUNY Oswego is in Upstate New York. It’s the same school where the famed weatherman Al Roker and ESPN’s Steve Levy and Linda Cohn attended and graduated from.

What was your major?

Clyde: My major was in Broadcasting and Mass Communications.

What was your college experience like?

Clyde: Wow! Great question. Honestly, it was the best experience ever. I think it was because this time around, I had more flexibility with attending and doing extra activities on campus. I’ve attended Onondaga Community College from 2013–2016 and all I did there was attend school and went home while receiving my Associate in Applied Science. My degree was in Electronic Media Communications with a specialization in Digital Media.

While at SUNY Oswego, I help co-founded and created their 1st wrestling show with my co-host Jack Franzino. The show was named “The Burial Ground”. The faculty, students, and everyone in between were very helpful and instrumental to my success there. Plus, the alumni were a great asset to my growth; my cousin Takeema and my friend Tatiana would push me to continue to go forward in my studies.

What was the most important lesson you learned as a student?

Clyde: The most important lesson that I learned as a student is to communicate. Let your professors know what’s going on early so that they can help you succeed. They are there to motivate you as well to give you criticism to use as motivation. A perfect example would be that I work a job in which I would be mandated until the mornings. So, I would send an email out to my professor to let them know that I’ll be running late for class and that their work will be completed. Their response was, “Just get here when you can and complete the work.” That allows the communication to be open and transparent.

What was the most exciting thing that happened this year?

Clyde:  The most exciting thing that happened this year for me at SUNY Oswego was that I finished my last semester with a 3.89 GPA while working full-time and attending school full-time. Also, outside of SUNY Oswego, I’ve become an ordained Deacon at The King’s Healing Room.

What are your post-graduation plans?

Clyde: My Post-Graduation plans are to land a position in my career field either in broadcasting, media, or communications.

What else would you like our readers to know about you?

Clyde:  Well, I started Clyde Anderson Media (CAMEDIA) in 2018. In which I do podcasting, photography, videography, press events, and many other media and communications works for my clients. I’ve covered some of the most prestige events in media such as the Tribeca Film Festival, Urban Action Showcase, C2E2, New York Comic Con, and Syracuse International Film Festival just to name a few. I’ve interviewed well-known celebrities in entertainment and media such as THE D.O.C, Issa Rae, Kurrupt, and Kim Hill to name a few.

What advice would you have for the class of 2024?

Clyde: Perseverance! That’s what allows me to get to where I am in life and through SUNY Oswego. Also, Pray. Pray Until Something Happens (P.U.S.H.). Just hold tight to your dreams and vision for yourself. You will accomplish everything your heart desires.
