Your nonprofit, Jewelz Foundation Inc., empowers youth with tools for leadership, emotional wellness, and entrepreneurship. How do you approach balancing these diverse areas to create a cohesive program that addresses the full spectrum of a young person’s needs?

Kendra: At Jewelz Foundation Inc., we take a holistic approach — because young people don’t develop in isolated parts. Leadership, emotional wellness, and entrepreneurship are all connected. A confident, emotionally aware young person will lead with purpose. A future entrepreneur must first believe in their ability to overcome obstacles. That’s why our programs are designed to support the whole individual — equipping them with practical leadership skills, emotional literacy, and a mindset for success. We create a safe space where they can grow, learn, and step into their potential, ensuring that no aspect of their development is left behind.

You’ve spoken openly about the importance of resilience and healing. How has your personal journey influenced the creation of your podcast, Survivor’s Jewelz, and what impact do you hope it has on your audience?

Kendra: My journey has been filled with challenges that required deep resilience and faith. I created Survivor’s Jewelz because I know firsthand what it means to survive heartbreak, setbacks, and unexpected storms — and I also know the power of hearing someone else’s story when you’re struggling to find your own strength. The podcast is about real, unfiltered conversations that remind people they’re not alone. I want listeners to walk away feeling empowered, seen, and inspired to keep pushing forward, no matter what they’re facing.

As an author of books like Droppin’ Jewelz and Keeping Your Vibes High, you’ve provided guidance on self-growth and empowerment. How does storytelling play a role in helping others overcome their challenges and embrace their potential?

Kendra: Storytelling is one of the most powerful tools for transformation. When people see themselves in a story — when they hear struggles that mirror their own — it creates a shift. It makes healing feel possible. My books are rooted in truth and personal experience because I believe that lived wisdom carries a weight that resonates. Whether through faith-based principles in Droppin’ Jewelz or mindset shifts in Keeping Your Vibes High, my goal is always to give people something they can hold onto, something that reminds them they have the power to rewrite their own story.

With the launch of your new wellness initiatives this year, how do you envision these programs transforming the way people approach holistic well-being in their personal and professional lives?

Kendra: Wellness isn’t just about what we eat or how we exercise — it’s about how we think, how we rest, and how we take care of ourselves emotionally and spiritually. I want to redefine what self-care looks like, making it accessible and intentional. Through my upcoming wellness programs, people will learn practical ways to integrate movement into their busy schedules, manage stress, and create a lifestyle that prioritizes longevity. In professional spaces, I hope to see more organizations adopt a wellness-first culture — because when people feel good, they perform better, lead better, and live with greater purpose.

You’re an entrepreneur, nonprofit leader, author, and mother. What lessons have you learned from each of these roles, and how have they shaped your leadership style?

Kendra: Each role has taught me something different. As a mother, I learned patience and unconditional love. As an entrepreneur, I learned the power of resilience and adaptability. Leading a nonprofit taught me the importance of serving from a place of impact rather than just ambition. And as an author, I’ve realized that words have the power to change lives. Altogether, these experiences have shaped me into a leader who leads with purpose, who listens, and who isn’t afraid to take risks to create meaningful change.

In your upcoming book, Unbroken Jewelz, you highlight stories of surviving heartbreak and bouncing back. What was the journey like for you creating this literary gem?

Kendra: This book has been an emotional process — one that required me to revisit pain, but also to celebrate healing. Unbroken Jewelz isn’t just my story; it’s a collection of powerful voices who have survived some of life’s hardest seasons. It was important for me to honor these experiences in a way that felt real and raw, while also providing hope. Writing this book reaffirmed my belief that resilience is something we all have, even when we don’t recognize it in ourselves.

You’ve obtained such an influential career so far. What’s next for you as you continue to help so many others amplify their voices?

Kendra: I’m always thinking about expansion — how to make a greater impact. Right now, I’m focused on growing Jewelz Foundation Inc., scaling Survivor’s Jewelz, and pushing my wellness initiatives further. I’m also working on new book projects that will continue to educate and inspire. Ultimately, my mission remains the same: to create spaces for healing, empowerment, and transformation — whether that’s through writing, speaking, or mentoring.

How can others get involved with helping you create spaces for healing, empowerment, and growth?

Kendra: There are so many ways to get involved! Whether it’s supporting Jewelz Foundation Inc., collaborating on initiatives, or simply spreading awareness, every effort helps. Businesses and individuals who want to sponsor youth programs or partner on wellness initiatives can reach out directly. And for those who just want to be part of the movement — join the conversation, share the resources, and continue creating spaces where healing and empowerment can thrive. Together, we can make a lasting impact.

We’re just getting started!
