Joseph Peek, the owner of Capitaland Auto Services, and the chief mechanic, has worked with cars for many years. He specializes in electric vehicles but is experienced with car models.

Joseph has advocated for electric vehicles because gasoline cars pose many environmental dangers. He spent years learning to repair and maintain electric vehicles, a new skill set that he had just begun to master. Joseph has confidently adapted to the new trends and continues to provide the same high level of service that his customers have come to expect. He has decades of experience fixing and maintaining all types of automobiles, especially electric cars.

 

Thanks for joining us! Let’s start with getting to know who Joseph Peek is. And what are you doing these days? 

I am Joseph Peek, owner of Capitaland Auto Services. I have been in the car industry for many years and have seen a lot of changes. I am highly passionate about my work; every day is as exciting for me as it is my first day at work. I lead a very simple and by-the-clock life.

Every day I open my auto repair shop around 8 am to welcome my customers for car service. My four employees and I work with great dedication till 6 pm daily. We do all phases of auto repair on cars, trucks, and medium-duty vehicles such as box trucks and buses. Our company also does 24-hour towing. These days I am researching and investing in providing electric car repair services at my company.

 

What made you decide to become an entrepreneur? 

The idea for my company came naturally as I have been a mechanic since I was 14 years old. I always wanted to be a business owner my whole life and one strategy that has helped me grow is honesty and integrity. I do my very best to stand by all of the work I do. So I ended up being an entrepreneur because I always wanted to be one.

 

What would you say are the top 3 skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur, and why? 

The top 3 skills to create a successful trajectory as an entrepreneur, according to me, are as follows:

 

  1. Solution-based Or Service-based Expertise

To become a successful entrepreneur, one must have either service-based expertise or solution-based expertise according to the requirements of the market.

 

  1. Wisdom To Connect With Your Ideal Client

It is vital to connect with your ideal clients at the right time to grow your business and become successful as an entrepreneur.

 

  1. Growth Mindset

To become a successful entrepreneur, a growth mindset is crucial. If you can think big, you can achieve big things.

 

You sound quite passionate about your work; why? Is there a story behind it? 

Yes, I am really passionate about cars and my work. It’s been part of my life for decades now. As far as any story is concerned, there is no story behind my passion but sheer love for cars and automobile technology. I feel really excited about the growth of electric vehicles.

As the increase in popularity of electric vehicles grows with the talk of climate change, I am ready to take on this new challenge of learning to service these cars. I have seen an increase in electric vehicles requesting to be serviced and excited to learn more about them so I can continue to provide excellent service to my customers.

 

How do you separate Capitaland Auto Services from your competitors? 

My love for cars and my confidence. I have decades of experience that makes me confident that I can adapt to any new trend and continue to provide the same high level of service that my customers have come to expect from me.

 

What was the biggest problem you encountered launching your company and how did you overcome it? 

The biggest challenge I faced when I started Capitaland Auto Services was to find like-minded people to build a team. I wanted to work with people who share the same passion and love for cars. To overcome this problem, I conducted a series of interviews and hired a lot of people on a paid internship to finally find the best four individuals who are working with me today and I am proud of their commitment to Capitaland Auto Services.

 

How do you stay driven and motivated to keep going in your business? 

I don’t need to do anything extra to stay motivated, it’s my natural love for cars that keeps me excited and passionate about my job every single day. I spend my free time reading about innovations and technological advancements in the automobile industry.

 

What’s the best part of your job? 

Everything. I thoroughly love my job. I love every bit of it every single day. It’s been decades and I don’t remember a single day when I wanted to quit or regretted my choice of profession.

 

What is your definition of success? 

For me success is contentment. If you are content and happy about your life and your work, I believe there is no bigger success than this. I have seen people living an otherwise good life but being utterly uncontended and unhappy. There is no concept of success, at least for me, when you are unsatisfied with your job and life.
