Can you walk us through the process of putting together the Christmas album? How did you approach making each track feel unique while capturing that holiday spirit?

Christmas is a season filled with love and joy. Combine that with the peace in the studio it creates a recipe for a great EP! My studio has a vibrant energy, and as soon as I step inside, I can’t help but feel inspired and ready to create!

We heard you’ve submitted for several awards this year! Can you share which songs or projects are up for awards and what the recognition means to you as an indie artist?

It’s always a joy to be recognized, who doesn’t like the attention. But to have recognition for the countless hours of work I put in, to put a smile on people’s faces is priceless. It’s a blessing to have recognition. A lot of it is due to my hit R&B song You’re a Woman. I’ve also been recognized as Best New Artist for Back To Rhythm and Love Vol 1, and Love is All We Need dance mix.

How would you describe your journey this past year? What has it been like working with your PR team to promote your music? How has their support shaped your visibility and reach as an artist?

This year has undoubtedly been a significant journey. Like any journey, it has had its share of ups and downs. The PR efforts have been instrumental in raising awareness about my brand and identity. It is essential to collaboratively ensure that Kenny J’s brand reflects the authenticity of who I am both as a person and as an artist.

As an indie artist, what do you find most rewarding and most challenging about being in control of your music and career?

As an indie artist, the reward is to have the ability to create music that I’m passionate about. What’s challenging is getting the right ears to hear it to widen the audience.

Your fan base continues to grow and evolve. What role does their support play in your motivation to keep creating?

Music has the ability to transform a bad day into a good day with just one song. The fact that something I wrote makes that much impact on someone…That’s an awesome feeling. It keeps me inspired to stay in the lab.

What does 2025 look like for you? Are there any major milestones or new directions you’re excited to explore?

2025 is expected to be a good year and I still expect to explore songs with great meaning and impact.

Can you give us a sneak peek of what we can expect from your 2025 EP? Are there any specific themes or styles you’re experimenting with on this project?

I’m staying consistent with the theme of love. If you’re not already in love; you’re gonna want to be in love with Volume 2. Lots of head nodding, finger-snapping, and toe-tapping happening with this one.

Where do you see your music taking you? Are there any dream collaborations or big goals you’re working toward in the next few years?

I’m excited about what’s to come! I’m fully open to any collaborations that may arise. I believe that 2025 will not only continue the trend of great music but also provide opportunities to expand my brand into new areas of media. The future is bright, and I can’t wait to see where it leads!
