Daniel Gallagher, a producer, storyteller, and youth culture marketer, has created a Love of Versace Event to celebrate the accomplishments of Gianni Versace. The Hawaii-based event also celebrates gender equality and the rights of the LBGTQ community. Versace is one of the brands Gallagher has worked to build and market. 

“The Love of Versace project came out of a desire to honor Versace while also celebrating the accomplishments of Fay Sumida, one of Hawaii’s most inspiring businesswomen,” says Gallagher. Sumida was an early pioneer, owning a fashion business in 1972. In 1991, she rebranded her retail stores to the house of Versace. 

The event will also showcase Versace’s avant-garde spirit while empowering women.

“Despite women’s empowerment having been at the forefront for many years, women still face violence and discrimination in many places in the world,” Gallagher says. “The Love of Versace project aims to change that.”

The project honors the LBGTQ community by honoring Versace’s legacy as an openly gay man during a time when being gay was not well tolerated, says Gallagher. 

The project includes several major events. 

  • An invitation-only fashion show
  • A dinner and networking event for 100 members of the media, socialites, celebrities, influencers, and VIPs
  • A ticketed exhibition in Hawaii featuring Versace archives and celebrating the rights of women and LGBTQ
  • A grand launch event in which some of Versace’s iconic looks will be auctioned for charity

For the Love of Versace is just one organization with which Daniel Gallagher is associated. Gallagher is also a founder and youth culture marketer at the Future Collective. Future Collective is a network of seasoned marketing professionals who “plug” partners into talent to help them expand their global reach. The collective specializes in helping businesses reach Millennials and Generation Z, especially in Japan.

Gallagher has considerable experience as a brand marketer, having worked with Red Bull, Macy’s, The Ritz Carlton, Everlast, Pullman Resorts, Il Lupino, Bills Hawaii, and Marriott International, as well as Versace.
