ASPCA member John Wilton Kelley discusses the benefits of becoming an ASPCA guardian.

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA / DECEMBER 2022 / The ASPCA has been fighting animal neglect and abuse for 150 years. ASPCA member John Wilton Kelley recently discussed the benefits of becoming an ASPCA guardian and what it takes.

What Is an ASPCA Guardian?

ASPCA Guardians are dedicated individuals who make regular monthly gifts to the organization. These monetary gifts allow the ASPCA to rescue and aid animals in need.

Why Are ASPCA Guardians Necessary?

Roughly half of the animals sent to shelters never get adopted. These animals never get a chance at a better life because there’s nobody to adopt them. The money that Guardians gift helps shelter animals make it to healthy, caring homes.

Guardian donations are as low as 60 cents per day, but that 60 cents can go a long way. This level of support helps with rescue operations, provides shelter for animals, and assists in helping locate caring homes.

Donors also become part of the close-knit ASPCA Guardians community. They receive regular newsletters and have access to an exclusive website only for Guardians.

The following are a few of the most significant benefits of contributing to the ASPCA:

  • ASPCA donations provide care and resources as needed to keep animals in loving homes.
  • The ASPCA fights animal cruelty cases on small and large scales.
  • Donations help the ASPCA take all possible actions to care for neglected, abused, and homeless animals.
  • Contributions help the ASPCA fight for stronger animal protection laws.
  • Donors also help create more humane living conditions for all animals, including farm animals.
  • Horse lovers will appreciate that their donations help promote the superior welfare of horses across the continent. This includes stronger protection laws and support for owners.

How to Become an ASPCA Guardian

Becoming an ASPCA Guardian is as easy as picking up the phone or logging online to donate. Donors can set up a one-time donation or monthly contribution to the ASPCA.

Donor John Wilton Kelley explained that recurring donations could be altered or canceled at any time. The change would take place the following month if the change was made past the processing deadline.
