Colombian-born Juan G. Guevara immigrated to the United States in 1989. With over 25 years in the jewelry and watch repair industry, Guevara has worked in all aspects of the jewelry industry from retail to manufacturing to repair, and studied at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). In 1993, he along with his business partner Michael Insalago, founded M&G Jewelers, which today, along with My Jewelry Repair, has become the ultimate resource of repair expertise for department stores and luxury watch and jewelry retailers. Today, the company boasts state of the art facilities on the East and West Coasts, and boasts more than 170 employees. The company currently provides services to all major retailers and Swiss watch manufacturers in the United States.

Why did you decide to create My Jewelry Repair?
We recognized the importance of providing our retail clients with online repair services, which is why we decided to develop our own B2C site. Our main goal was to refine and enhance the platform by resolving any issues or challenges. Once we were satisfied with its performance, we made it available for our retail partners to use with their own clients.
Can you tell us about your team of craftsmen?
We are proud to have a dedicated team of over 150 members across our facilities in CT and CA. Our team is comprised of incredibly talented individuals who bring a diverse range of skills and experiences to the table. Among our team members, we have highly skilled master setters who have honed their craft with us. We also have watchmakers who are certified in various Swiss brands, including those from the two largest luxury groups in the world, LVMH and Richemont Group.
The diversity within our team is one of our greatest strengths. Our team members come from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, which enriches our collective knowledge and expertise. We value and respect their respective trades and actively support their growth in the technical aspects of repairs.

How does the process work? and how long does a refurbishing of a watch take in general?
Our watch repair process is a breeze. First, you fill out our online form, describing your repair needs and creating an account for clear communication. You then ship your items to us with tracking provided by us, receive a no-obligation repair quote, and select the work you want. Our expert team works their magic in our state-of-the-art facilities, and we aim to restore your items quickly, even offering custom orders.
For watch repairs, it usually takes 2-3 business days for your shipment to reach us. Diagnostic testing begins upon receipt, and the estimate is provided within 48-72 hours. If additional parts are needed, they are on order for about 3-4 weeks, and the watch is typically ready within an additional week. However, times may vary for specific brands and vintage timepieces.
Your package is shipped with a signature requirement for added security, and you receive tracking information immediately. At My Jewelry Repair, our goal is to provide a luxurious and efficient experience, ensuring your valuable timepieces are restored to their manufacturer standards.
