Wellness and Medicine in Today’s Modern World with Dr. Keith Nemec

Tell us about your background in your career in health and wellness.

My name is Dr. Keith Nemec, with a specialty in nutritional medicine who has practiced for 38 years in alternative medicine. I am also a researcher focusing on general body wellness, including mind, emotions and body with an emphasis on longevity. In line with my career, I have also founded the Total Health Institute, serving as the director and reviewer of all inpatient and outpatient clients.  Additionally, my passion for alternative medicine propelled me to author various books and articles about my career and field of practice. I have also been hosted several times in different radio programs and stations to elaborate on the practice of alternative nutrition. I also had my own radio show called Your Total Health on Chicago AM11160, which I had co-hosted with my wife for 18 years. Among the books I have authored include: Seven Basic Steps to Total Health, The Perfect Diet, Total Health=Wholeness, and The Environment of Health and Disease. However, I am most renowned for the Nemec New Medicine protocol, which emphasizes the link between the body, brain and the mind where a lack of balance may lead to disease.

You are one of the most influential people in alternative medicine. What is unique about Total Health Institute?

That would be my skills and experience. I have a master’s degree in nutritional medicine from Morsani College of Medicine. Furthermore, I hold three fellowships from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, which is the largest group of alternative medicine practitioners. This gives me the knowledge I need to run such an institute and gives me a better advantage based on my history in the field. Most importantly I have the experience of consulting with over 10,000 patients over the last 38 years.

Why are people coming to you today?

The world is changing, creating a need for healthier ways to heal from diseases as well as better ways to maintain good health. While Total Health Institute is not the first of its kind, it is unique, in the way we care for our patients. People opt to come to us due to the specialized care we offer to every patient. Besides offering treatment, people also come to us for the active teaching programs. Through these programs, we help teach patients how to live the seven basic steps to total health, which comprises prayer/stillness/meditation, exercise, breathing/oxygen, food, water, and fasting/detoxification.

Now Total Health Institute has grown drastically over time. What can clients expect when working with you?

At Total Health Institute, we believe that each client is different and unique, no matter how similar the case may look on the outside. As such, we give each client special attention to arrive at a personalized solution. Going forward, patients should expect that we will continue to offer and give them more personalized care and treatment. These treatments are always improved if scientific research supports a more beneficial way to achieve a result.

What is your advice for young people who want to have a global brand?

My advice to a young person looking to build a global brand is to pursue their dreams vigorously and without any fear. I would also advise young people that every human being has something to offer and do better than anybody else. They should identify what that is and focus on growing it. In doing so, success will be inevitable.

Empowerment of women is important to you. What initiatives are you working on today?

While we target to reach all men and women alike, I always tell patients that women are in general more intuitive and more aware of what is going on with their body. Being more sensitive to the environment is a very big plus in healing because one can be aware of symptoms before they become full-blown disease. We seek empower our women patients to be the example at home and to be the model that their families can follow and to practice health and wellness principles both for themselves and for their families. So many times, women are the driving force for change in the family.

You are expanding your Company Worldwide. What are your goals for the upcoming years?

Total Health Institute has an amazing future ahead, that’s for sure. We have continued to record growth on all metrics, which is a good sign. I am particularly ecstatic with an interest in healthy living globally.  We have a remote program that has widened our patient outreach and our goal is to have branches worldwide, so we can reach as many people as we can.
