Hello Influential People News readers, meet Amy Philbert. Amy was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and moved to Virginia four years ago and that is when her career truly began to flourish. As a young child, Amy discovered creative writing and knew it would be a lifelong passion. At the age of 12, she became a published author with a poem and that next year, was asked to publicly read another poem written for her 8th grade/ National Junior Honor Society graduation in a public setting of upwards of 300 people. That same poem was also used in the high school graduating class at the local high school.

In her mid-20’s, Amy began a career in modeling and dove into screenplay writing. Since then, she has become a successful internationally printed model, has done runway shows for major corporations such as JC Penny and The Avenue, as well as The Arizona Bridal Show, which caters to thousands of brides to be in the state of Arizona. In addition, she grew her career in film with the release of her first film being released, just this April 2023. Currently, it is available via Tubi and Cubestream, and is anticipated to hit Amazon Prime Video soon. The film is entitled “Connie” and is a psychological thriller that tells a story of a teenage girl who suffers from Schizophrenia, but is misdiagnosed and mistreated after a very serious occurrence. Amy is also winning multiple international competition awards for her screenplays entitled, “Muted For Justice” as well as “Unredeemed”, was nominated for “Best of the Festival” in the Paramount Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA for both films, and now sits on the panel of judges as a Guest Judge for the Paramount Film Festival.

Please tell us about yourself and what you’re working on as of late.

Amy: Currently, I am getting ready to film the first season of my family-friendly sitcom entitled, “Junior High Daze”. This series is one that focuses on and promotes healthy body image, healthy friendships, healthy family relationships, morals, and values, in a very poppy and fun way. Through this series, we are taken through the life of our main character, Rickie (Raquel Jacobs), who is a plus-sized, rock and roll-loving teen, who faces issues such as being picked on for her weight, not only by other kids but also by her mom and sister who are both materialistic and beauty-focused beauty pageant queens.

Rickie also faces issues with friends and watches other family members deal with bullying as well. Every episode reflects on the situation at hand in each story and allows the viewer to review all the positive things that happened as well as reflect on how some things could have possibly been handled in a better way with understanding, grace, and love for others.

In what ways has your career influenced the lives of others?

Amy: I would like to think that my career has positively influenced others by opening up opportunities for not only the wonderful acting talents who have so graciously been a part of them, but also, I have been able to give my son the opportunity to work with me on his first major musical piece for my film, Connie.

I love also being able to work with my husband, who does all my film scoring, and I have been able to open up the ability to not only focus on concert promotions and management through his music production company, High Profile Entertainments & Productions, Inc, but now, he has been opened up to life in film and it also gives some of his clients further opportunities in film as well by letting us use their music, or even being vocalists to original music and lyrics that we write together.

One of my biggest wishes is to be able to create something so wonderful and impactful, that even bigger companies will find my acting talents through my work, and those talents would be able to advance in their careers.

What are you most excited about for the rest of 2023?

Amy: I am really excited to see Connie reach more platforms and more people. I think the basis of what Connie is about (Schizophrenia) is a very hard topic for people, and I want to be able to penetrate a sense of understanding and for people to realize that anyone who suffers from it really needs people to love them and advocate for their mental health. Schizophrenia is a very scary and torturous condition, and although Connie is very light on the effects people suffer from it, I hope that it is impactful enough to help make a difference.

Secondly, I am really excited to film and complete Junior High Daze. It is scheduled to begin filming in July 2023 and I believe that this sitcom can help make a difference in lives on so many levels. This show is relatable and funny, there are so many personalities to be able to connect with, and as the writer, I can honestly say that I get a chuckle out of the situations that arise, and also, a tear or two have been shed on the parts that are really deep, yet easy to understand for kids and adults.

Is there anything you haven’t accomplished yet that you aspire to in the future? If so, what does that look like?

Amy: I do work as a hired writer for other Producers, and I am so, so blessed to have these opportunities. I would, however, love to see my career grow in this department, and eventually would love to be able to move into working in film full-time. My passions are writing and directing, and I would love to be able to create magic for so many people with all the ideas floating around in my head and in my heart.

What else would you like to share with our readers? Any exclusive news you can share with us first?

Amy: I was recently published on the front page of the Free Lance Star Newspaper in Virginia, which is a very well-known and sought after newspaper. A few days later, a reporter from the Roanoke Times Newspaper saw that article and also re-printed that story in yet again, another major newspaper that circulates the state of Virginia. More news would be that Season 2 of Junior High Daze is currently being written, and we hope to be able to film that shortly after Season 1 is completed.

We also help to score a deal or two with some major stores to be able to have official Junior High Daze merchandise available to the public, starting with the United States. Lastly, my husband and I are planning to do a benefits show for the Hampton VA Medical Center in Hampton, VA later this year, and are super excited to bring on some wonderful musical talents, as well as a dancer to entertain the Veterans on the campus.

We will be catering to Veterans who are part of Spinal Cord Injury, Rehab, Hospice, and so much more. We are big believers in giving back to the community and our companies, High Profile Entertainments & Productions, Inc., AS Plus Modeling, LLC and Amy Philbert Films, LLC will be hosting this event. We are currently looking for venders, sponsors, and volunteers who would love to help out and give back to those who have given up so many of their own freedoms for ours. Feel free to reach out by email or any social media links below.
