What does your typical day look like, and how do you make it productive?

A typical workday for me consists of approximately 10 hours of focused work in the tech sector. Additionally, I make it a point in order to keep a balance for sound mind and body to hit my cardio and weights gym workouts, six days a week. Having a complete home gym saves me a lot of time and helps me maintain efficiency throughout the day. By taking care of my physical health, I ensure that I have the energy and focus to tackle the challenges of my work and still have time for my family and the causes I am passionate about.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I firmly believe that most major ideas cannot be realized by just one person. To realize my ideas, I build a team of individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise. This collaborative approach allows us to pool our collective knowledge and skills, taking an idea from inception to full deployment more effectively.

What’s one trend that excites you?

The world’s movement toward achieving a zero-carbon footprint really excites me.  As someone deeply committed to environmental sustainability, seeing global efforts in this direction gives me hope for a brighter, greener future for all of humanity and the planet.

What is one habit of yours that helps you be productive?

I rely on a living “To Do” list that I update regularly. Each morning, I prioritize the most mission-critical tasks that need to be completed that day, ensuring that I stay organized and focused on what matters most.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Out of 100 items/tasks that need to be completed, focus on the top 3 to 5 and the other 95 can wait. In the end, some of these level-2 tasks may end up taking care of themselves over time.

I have learned over the years that being realistic about what I can accomplish and not beating myself up over what I can’t achieve is crucial. It’s essential to strike a balance and get enough sleep to maintain overall well-being.

Tell us something you believe that almost nobody agrees with you on.

I’ve come across this question before, and I consider it a bit of a “trick question”! If I were to hold a belief that absolutely nobody on the planet agrees with, I would seriously question my thinking. In reality, there are many diverse opinions and perspectives out there, and it’s essential to be open to different viewpoints.

What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?

I strongly advocate for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally. Regular physical exercise, mental well-being, and taking care of one’s medical needs are critical. Regular doctor visits, physicals, and dental care are essential components of maintaining overall health and productivity.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?

When I feel overwhelmed or unfocused, I take a step back and give myself a break. Sometimes, I’ll work on other productive tasks that are not causing me stress. Taking time to recharge and reset is crucial for maintaining productivity and mental clarity. It’s a bit like recharging the batteries before diving back into the challenges.

What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business or advance in your career? Please explain how.

One strategy that has been instrumental in my career growth is the idea of bringing in other smart and talented individuals. No significant achievement can be accomplished alone. Building a strong team of diverse, skilled people is essential for success.

What is one failure in your career, how did you overcome it, and what lessons did you take away from it?

Earlier in my career, I made the mistake of hiring the wrong CEO for the company I founded. Despite the setback, I found solace in the fact that many other smart people (and that were on the Board) were also involved in the decision. However, the failure taught me valuable lessons about hiring for senior positions and the importance of trusting my instincts which had some reservations at the time. It also made me realize that even supposedly intelligent people can make significant mistakes. Since then, I have become more discerning in my decision-making and confident in saying “NO” when necessary.

What is one business idea you’re willing to give away to our readers?

While I’m not willing to give away specific business ideas, I encourage anyone passionate about solving global warming to pursue their ideas and contribute to this crucial cause.

What is one piece of software that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

One software that significantly aids my productivity is Office365. I use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams extensively for various tasks, such as email management, contacts, calendar, and task organization. It keeps me organized and allows for seamless collaboration with others.

What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why? (personal or professional)

Recently, I purchased a new fitness device that includes a chest strap heart rate monitor and integrates with my zero-impact cardio machines. This investment has enhanced my cardio workouts and overall fitness tracking, making it a valuable addition to my fitness routine.

Do you have a favorite book or podcast (or both) you’ve gotten a ton of value from and why?

While I don’t have a particular favorite book or podcast, I find immense value in staying informed through news sources like MSN.com and personalized news feeds. They provide me with a wide range of information on topics I’m interested in, keeping me updated and knowledgeable about various subjects.

What’s a movie or series you recently enjoyed and why?

Lately, I’ve been enjoying YouTube with my paid YouTube account. I love the convenience of watching and listening to my favorite content from my personal built play lists during my various zero-impact cardio machine workouts. It keeps me entertained while staying fit and active.
