Dr. Benjamin Ticho, a Chicago-area ophthalmologist, has opened a second office to serve Indiana patients better. Opened in June, the Munster office will expand the geographic range of people Dr. Ticho and his team can help, giving more people in the area the opportunity for better vision and stronger eye health through the latest in ophthalmic technology.
Dr. Ticho is a board-certified ophthalmologist and has served as an instructor for dozens of fellows and residents. He has also served at The University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, as well as filling the role of primary investigator in some of the most significant ophthalmic clinical research of the last 20 years.
With a dedication to patient care and the advancement of technology, Dr. Benjamin Ticho treats cataracts, strabismus, and oculoplastic conditions. His goal is to make sure all patients have the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their eye care. Taking the extra time to give patients information and answer their questions has helped Dr. Ticho develop his career around taking care of his patients’ eyes for the long term.
Dr. Benjamin Ticho specializes in general and pediatric ophthalmology at the new office and his current locations. He has been proudly serving patients in the Chicago metro area for over three decades. Ben Ticho is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center and then moved to a residency at Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. His fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology was completed at Children’s Memorial Hospital.
With the new Munster, Indiana office, Dr. Ben Ticho is ready to provide even more value to patients in the local area. Pediatric ophthalmology, including for children with Down syndrome, is offered at all of the offices. Dr. Ticho’s volunteer work with the Chicago Public School system has helped him hone his bedside manner for pediatric patients. Parents can feel comfortable bringing their children to Dr. Ticho and his team.
Dr. Ticho has been frequently honored by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Pediatric Ophthalmology, and many other institutions. Some of the conditions he treats include glaucoma, tear duct obstruction, dry eye disease, thyroid eye disease, and more. Ben Ticho and his staff are dedicated to ensuring patients get what they need to protect their eye heatlh and see as well as possible.
