Jules: When did you discover your love for storytelling?

Diann: I have told stories ever since I can remember. My parents and grandparents love to tell stories, so it comes naturally. However, if you were to ask my childhood friend Connie Ann, she would say to you that I always had a story.

Jules: Share your recurring themes in your books.

Diann: My books cover a variety of themes: To be kind to yourself and others, To love yourself just the way you are, To pray for Peace, To go after your dreams, To believe in yourself.

Jules: Share your philosophy about life and how it is translated into your inspiring children’s books.

Diann: I believe life is a blessing. We are all put on this earth to share our talents. It might take a while to discover our talents, but once we do, I believe we give back in any way possible. It might be a smile, a pretty drawing, words of encouragement, or in my case stories to tell.

Jules: As a soul-curious parent, I long for my kids to get imaginative and grow their curiosity faster than I did. Do you have a favorite book?

Diann: My husband and I always enjoyed reading to our children. There are so many beautiful books out there that seem perfect for the moment the child might be experiencing. I love to this day “Alexander and The Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day” by Judith Viorst, and “The Little Mouse and the Big Hungry Bear.” Don Wood No matter what you read, you help a child’s imagination grow by reading, talking, and telling your own stories.

Jules: You just released A Time to Fly. What was your inspiration?

Diann: It is a story based on what happened in our backyard. My youngest daughter noticed a bluebird kept flying to this empty plant pot I had hanging on a post. I was going to purchase a new plant when she said wait, I think there is something in there, and sure enough, there were three baby eggs. Over the weeks, we watched the mom and dad take care of the eggs, the babies hatch, and one bird that did not want to leave its nest. It seemed to me the perfect story to share with children.

A book of encouragement and belief you can in yourself.

Jules: You have several exciting releases. What can we expect to spark the imagination in the upcoming months?

Diann: I am very excited that my book, “A Song of Peace,” received a Story Monster Award. A book about a little boy who wants Peace on Earth, and people worldwide begin singing for Peace. I love this book because it demonstrates how we on earth are all connected, and we need one another to help make the world a better place. I have a book coming out in October that I am thrilled about, “Charlie and the Tire Swing.” It will be the first in a series of easy readers’ adventures. I have a new “Moonling Adventure” with the artist with a date release that has not been set yet. Oh, and then for Christmas, I have a short story that will be part of a Christmas Anthology book filled with beautiful stories from authors from all over.

The second one is “The Corner Bookstore,” where we discuss the latest books from the authors, all things in professional writing, and what is going on in the world of international publishing & new books. The third show is Fashion Travel and Fitness, where we bring our listeners a show on the latest fads, trends, and places to go. Our Travel expert Sandy Adams joins us quarterly for current travel updates.

Dr. Jacalyn has developed the ‘Listening Mentor Courses’ so people can learn how to develop their listening skills. There is truly something for everyone.

Jules: What’s next?

Diann: I am working on some exercise workbooks to help those interested in developing their storytelling skills gain the confidence to go out and tell their stories. We all have a story to tell, and if I can play a small role in helping others tell their stories, I will have made a tiny difference in the world.
