I strongly believe that my early fascination with urban environments and the people inhabiting them have been elemental in shaping my photography style. It was a combination of various experiences, however, the moment that resonated with me the most happened while I was on an outdoor shoot. On this particular occasion, I had set up my equipment in a forest area and waited for my models to arrive. The sky suddenly opened up and a torrential downpour ensued! Despite the weather conditions, the couple kept their smiles and laughed through the entire session. When I looked through my lens, I saw a connection between the two that was truly beautiful. It was at that moment that I realized that photography was more than just an enjoyable hobby – it could become my true passion and career path.
Your biography highlights your passion for capturing the love and joy of family events. What draws you to this type of photography, and how do you approach capturing these intimate moments?
I believe that family events are special occasions and deserve to be remembered for years to come. Capturing a couple’s wedding or a newborn’s first steps is not only an honor but also something incredibly moving. I enjoy creating images that capture these unique and treasured moments in time. My approach to capturing such intimate interactions involves being mindful of the setting, understanding the emotions between the couple or family members, and emphasizing natural poses rather than forcing them into staged postures. I aim to bring out the deep connection between loved ones and immortalize these moments through my photography.

How do you balance your appreciation for nature and your focus on family and event photography in your work?
Nature has always been a major source of inspiration for me and I believe that my appreciation for it translates into my family and event photography. For example, while shooting outdoors, I like to take advantage of the environment’s natural beauty by incorporating elements such as trees or flowers. This can give the images an extra layer of depth and texture. Additionally, I strive to capture the connection between family members in such a way that it appears as if they are interacting with their natural surroundings, making them part of the bigger picture. This allows me to create images that evoke a deep appreciation for both nature and love.
Moving from Russia to London for your photography studies must have been a significant step. How did this change in environment impact your perspective on photography and influence your artistic growth?

Moving from Russia to London for my photography studies was undoubtedly a major step in my life and career. The vibrant energy of the city coupled with its diverse cultural heritage enabled me to explore the art form further. I found myself constantly being exposed to new techniques and perspectives that challenged me to think outside the box when it came to photography. Additionally, having access to a wide range of equipment and resources was incredibly beneficial to my artistic growth. This enabled me to experiment with various styles that I likely wouldn’t have had the opportunity to explore back home. Overall, moving to London has been highly rewarding in terms of my creative development and journey as a photographer.
Can you share a project or photograph that you consider a turning point in your journey as a photographer? What made it so significant?
I would say that the turning point in my journey as a photographer was the “Love is Everywhere” project. This project was inspired by my travels and the people I met along the way. It involved documenting unique love stories from around the world, which I did by capturing couples on location and interviewing them about their relationship. This series of photos and stories allowed me to reflect on love from a more global perspective. Beyond this, it also pushed me to think more deeply about how people show and express their love for each other. It was truly an eye-opening experience that I believe defined my journey as a photographer.
In your journey from natural landscapes to family and event photography, what techniques or skills from your earlier work do you still apply to your current projects?
The techniques I developed while shooting natural landscapes have been essential to my current projects. Understanding light and shadows is especially important when it comes to family and event photography, particularly when working outdoors. This allows me to take advantage of the environment by creating interesting compositions with the landscape as a backdrop. Also, developing an eye for detail has been beneficial in helping me capture candid moments that tell a story. Approaching each project with an open mind and allowing for experimentation has also been key in helping me produce stunning visuals. When it comes to technical factors, knowing your equipment, understanding lighting, and familiarizing yourself with post-processing techniques can go a long way in achieving the desired results. On the creative side, it’s important to keep an open mind and be willing to experiment with different ideas. This can involve playing around with angles, compositions, and colors to capture unique images that stand out. Ultimately, this fusion of artistry, precision, and creativity is what I strive for in my photography projects.

With the advancements in digital photography and editing tools, how do you maintain the authenticity and uniqueness of your work while using these technologies?
I believe that the key to maintaining the authenticity and uniqueness of my work is to not rely solely on digital technologies. I like to use them as a tool rather than letting them take over the creative process. This means that while I do make use of editing tools, software, and other digital equipment in order to enhance my images, I also take the time to capture the moment without any digital help. This ensures that my work maintains its authenticity and uniqueness by capturing the story in its purest form.
