Interview by Jules Lavallee

Jaimie Hilfiger is an internationally-known model, actress, and spokesperson, who has established a successful skincare and beauty business that’s changing the way women see their skin. When her own battle with Rosacea threatened her livelihood and began to erode her confidence, Jaimie set out to create a line of products that would actually deliver results. Working with her partners at La Curcio Skincare, Jaimie released The Jaimie Hilfiger Collection. The collection benefits from La Curcio’s 40 years in the skincare business and is shaped by Jaimie’s intentional approach to developing products that are beautiful and safe for the skin and our planet.

Vegan, cruelty-free, and void of toxic fragrances, the products are bottled in recyclable packaging.

You are an internationally known model and actress. Tell us about your background.

I grew up the only child of doting, hard-working parents. Raised just outside of New York City, I initially got into the industry when I was around seven years old. My mom used to take me into the city for casting calls. My first campaign came from Sears department store. After landing many Sears campaigns I was able to continue to model throughout my childhood. When it was time for college, I was determined to earn an education so modeling took a backseat. I attended the University of Central Florida, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Media with a minor in Cinema Studies. It was here that I became involved with philanthropy work through the Ronald McDonald House, an organization I continue to support. Still passionate about beauty and fashion, I made my way back to the big apple where I lived and worked as a model before taking the leap and moving to Hollywood. In the most recent years, I have developed notable projects that have accelerated my career. I have been seen in national commercials, featured in many advertising campaigns, taken on many spokesmodel opportunities, and seen on the covers and in the pages of numerous magazines and entertainment weeklies. I have also contributed my fashion and beauty advice to many major media outlets and blogs.

What inspired you to launch The Jaimie Hilfiger Collection?

Even at an early age, I possessed an innate understanding of the inner power that comes from looking and feeling your best. As I became a woman, this intuition ignited a calling to help others cultivate confidence through an intentional approach to self-care. In each of my endeavors, I employ beauty, skincare, and fashion to empower the mind, body, and soul.

When my own battle with Rosacea threatened my livelihood and began to erode my confidence, I set out to create a line of products that would actually deliver results. I knew that it wouldn’t be easy to develop a brand around my own name. If you’re thinking about going into business, start by asking yourself if you can do anything else. If you can, do the other thing. But if your passion is so strong that your dream is the only thing you can do, then, and only then, you should do it. Because in order to accomplish your dream, it will probably come at the expense of just about everything else. Your dream will become your mother and father, so you’d better love it just about more than anything else. In order to be truly successful, you need two qualities. You need the will and the way. The will is the passion for your dream and the way is the muscle to get it done.

Tell us about your partnership with La Curcio Skincare and why it is so important to your brand.

As I developed a successful career as an international model and fashion icon, I sat happily in the seats of the best makeup artists and skincare experts in the world. However, my extensive experience revealed an urgent need for high-performance products with healthy ingredients and earth-friendly packaging. In collaboration with Jacki Curcio, Founder of La Curcio Beauty, we collaborated on The Jaimie Hilfiger Collection (By La Curcio) which brings a brand to the market that aligns with our mission to pair health and wellness with undeniable glamour.

What is offered in The Jamie Hilfiger Collection?

The Jaimie Hilfiger Collection benefits from La Curcio’s 40 years in the skincare business and is shaped by my intentional approach to developing products that are beautiful and safe for the skin and our planet. Vegan, cruelty-free, and void of toxic fragrances, the products are bottled in recyclable packaging. Each skincare product features natural ingredients like orange flower, sage, rose, chamomile, and is specifically formulated to support skin through hydration and anti-aging technology with texture perfection.

Which products are your favorites?

My favorite Jaimie Hilfiger Collection products that I cannot leave home without are:

  1. JH by La Curcio Mineral Mud Mask – It’s a must have! Concentrated Ultra Deep Cleansing Firming and Pore Minimizing Mask with Natural Purifying Charcoal and Clay for Soft Smooth Firmed & Refreshed Skin!
  2. JH by La Curcio Matte Velvet Lips – I love all the colors but ‘Blush’ is my favorite. Gorgeous, long lasting matte lip color that will stay on all day.
  3. JH by La Curcio Dual Face & Eye Makeup Remover – It’s the perfect combination to remove face and eye makeup while conditioning your skin and lashes.

Tell us about your lip colors. What are the top-sellers?

During the pandemic The Jaimie Hilfiger Collection by La Curcio Matte Velvet Lips were officially launched. My lip colors are designed to enhance a woman’s own natural beauty through a proprietary matte velvet application. The lip colors come in a variety of garden-inspired hues, including Peony, Red Rose, Orchid Plum, Blush, and more. It’s an important time for self-care and I always say that when you look your best, you feel your best. During this time, it’s very important to feel our best and I’m happy to create a product to help people do that.

What have you learned as your building your beauty empire?

I am so thankful for the lessons that I have learned along the way. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the experience and knowledge that I have received in becoming self-made. The greatest lessons I have learned are:

  1. Do not lose sight of who you are and your own personal style – Many times people told me to change up my image and to stop being so glamorous all the time. After discussing this with my publicist, Lee Runchey she explained to me that being glamorous is who I am, and it is what makes me recognizable.
  2. Do not give up – If it’s something you truly want then it’s important not to give up and not to lose sight of your ultimate goal. I always say to not lose track of the north. It might not be fast, but with time and effort it will be worth it in the end.

What’s so beautiful about the industry I am in is that it lets you express your true self whether it be through modeling, designing, photography, etc. Keeping in mind these life lessons will help you succeed without sacrificing your individual spirit.

Do you have a favorite beauty regimen you can share?

 My biggest skincare tips are:

  1. Taking off your makeup. I know this is a pain and sometimes you are so exhausted after partying the night away but sleeping with your makeup doesn’t just clog your pores, but it actually ages you! This is true especially for eye makeup because the area around your eyes is so delicate and sensitive.
  2. Reducing the amount of alcohol. Alcohol not only dehydrates your skin, but it also caused inflammation and redness! (Two things a girl with rosacea and ultra-sensitive skin wants to avoid.) I always say, if you want to get older drink!
  3. You are what you eat. I hate it when I hear people and even doctors say that your diet doesn’t affect your skin. Of course, it does! Whatever you put inside your body translates to your outside body so it’s important to be aware of highly processed, sugary, and fatty foods.

Any collaborations in the works?

I like to say that over the years, I have developed a signature style. When I think about my personal style it falls into two categories, high end lounge wear and ultra-glam. There is no in between for me. Once I introduce my high-end loungewear line to the market, I would love to do a collaboration with Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS collection. Another dream collaboration would be with Versace designing evening wear.

 Share your vision for 2022.

The future brings so much hope to all of us for some many reasons. I hope to expand my beauty empire by introducing new products that help women look and feel their best. I am also going to continue modeling, acting, and helping others in the industry become self-made entrepreneurs.
