For the past four decades, a simple yet compelling organization-wide vision has guided southeastern Guide Dogs: “to help those who cannot see.” Although it has evolved over the years to provide service animals to children and veterans with a variety of physical disabilities and life challenges, it has remained a leading charitable supplier of seeing-eye dogs.

Southeastern Guide Dogs has successfully developed thousands of guide and service dog teams in all 50 US states. It currently supports more than 600 active teams and oversees the well-being of more than 1,200 puppies and dogs.

Supporting extensive training initiatives at its Puppy Academy and Canine University as well as in the homes of its dedicated care staff, Southeastern Guide Dogs raises its animals for a full two years from birth to placement. It also offers educational training for the people that it serves, offering 20-day and 11-day courses on its official campus in Palmetto, Florida. During this time, people with vision loss and other disabilities learn to operate as a functional team with their new service animals.

Southeastern Guide Dogs offers all dogs and services free of charge, Funded solely by private donations.
