Congrats Caprice! You did it!

What school did you graduate from?

Caprice: I graduated from Onondaga Community College.

What was your major?

Caprice: I got an associate’s degree in Humanities and Social Science.

What was your college experience like?

Caprice: I don’t want to sound cliche but my college experience was beautiful, I felt a sense of belonging. My age did not matter, my race did not matter, my lack of knowledge did not matter. I had the resources right in front of me and I used them. I felt included, I did not think it was possible to get the whole college experience being that I was not coming straight out of high school. In my 2 years at OCC I felt like I did more than the normal person, I was able to plan a successful winter wonderland formal for the students, act as a member on the Advisory Board for CSTEP, I was apart of the Alumni faces event, I went to a CSTEP conference and so much more. I truly enjoyed my time at OCC and hope everyone experiences what I got to experience during my time there.

What was the most important lesson you learned as a student?

Caprice: The most important thing I learned as a student was to apply yourself, apply yourself to the work, apply yourself to the opportunities, apply yourself at everything you do and you will see the great outcomes. Success does not come overnight, it happens when you apply yourself.

What was the most exciting thing that happened this year?

Caprice: I think the most exciting thing that has happened this year for me was, too much to name. This year has been full of blessings and we are just about 6 months in but Graduating and celebrating with family and friends will always be monumental to me. Also getting access to cover my first red carpet as The Caprice Show at The Tribeca Film Festival alongside my sisters Tammy and Lakisa heck yesss! This year is about elevating and I am doing just that.

What are your post graduation plans?

Caprice: My post graduation plans are more schooling to obtain my bachelors degree, I just applied for a few universities with my major, I am very excited to see which one accepts me. I will also start filming for my talk show that was supposed to start back in March but due to me breaking my ankle it pushed filming back to July.

What else would you like our readers to know about you?

Caprice: Something I would like readers to know about me is that I am very grateful and appreciative to everyone who came before me, and after me. I am just happy to be where I am at this point in my life. Every blessing that is poured upon me, was prayed for and I worked hard for it.

What advice would you have for the class of 2024?

Caprice: Dear future graduates, I would just like to say be F’n great, do the course, stay the course, get the help, and be the help. Get to it, life will resume after school work. Don’t be scared of missing out on fun, family and friends if they love you they will understand and just know they will be waiting on you. You create your future and it starts with saying no and making time for the hard stuff.
