Please tell us about your journey as an author and what sparked your interest to write.

Lena: As someone who has always loved books and whose parents are authors, writing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was surrounded by books, and I spent countless hours lost in the worlds created by my parents and other authors. As I got older, I began to appreciate the power of words and the ability of a great story to transport readers to new places and inspire them.

As a result, I started writing my own stories at a young age, experimenting with different genres and styles. While I enjoyed writing for fun, it wasn’t until I was diagnosed with cancer, and it quickly became a therapeutic tool for me. During my treatment, I found solace in journaling and writing notes to my daughter, not knowing if I would make it. Through this process, I discovered the power of writing and its ability to heal.

As I wrote, I found that releasing my thoughts and prayers on paper had a profound effect on my emotional well-being. It gave me a sense of control and allowed me to process my feelings in a way that was both productive and cathartic.

Eventually, I decided to publish my short stories and poems with the world. I wanted to share my experience and offer hope to others who may be going through a similar struggle. Through my writing, I hope to inspire and connect with readers, reminding them that they are not alone.

Having the ability to combine my words with my art has been a gift. It’s a unique form of expression that everyone should experience. Through my writing and art, I have found a sense of purpose and fulfillment that I never could have imagined.

Since then, I have published several books in a variety of genres, including fiction, motivational/self help, and children’s literature. Each book has been a unique journey, with its own challenges and rewards.

For me, the spark that keeps me writing is the joy of storytelling and the connection that can be forged between a writer and their readers. It’s incredibly gratifying to hear from readers who have been moved by my work or who have found solace or inspiration in my stories. Writing is a challenging and sometimes solitary pursuit, but it’s also one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.

What else have you been working on as of late?

Lena: One of my recent books is “Verses of Life: A Collection of Poems on Love, Struggle, and Self-Discovery.” This deeply personal work is a compilation of my original poems that explore various themes related to the human experience, such as love, loss, growth, and resilience.

I also have a newly released ebook titled “Colorful Reflections: 7 Benefits of Devotional Journaling & Coloring.” The book explores the benefits of incorporating devotional journaling and coloring into your daily routine as a way to cultivate mindfulness, reduce stress, and deepen your spiritual practice.

I want to emphasize that this ebook is available for free at www.mycolorfulreflections.com. I truly believe in the power of journaling and coloring, and I want to encourage everyone to give it a try. This book is a great starting point for those who are new to journaling or coloring, or for anyone who wants to explore the benefits of these practices further.

If you’re interested in checking out “Verses of Life” or any of my other books, you can find them on my website at bluimpressionsdesigns.com. I have a range of books available in various genres, including poetry, fiction, and non-fiction.

What is a super fun fact about yourself that many people are not aware of?

Lena: Despite not being able to swim, I absolutely love jet skiing! There’s nothing quite like the exhilarating rush of wind through your hair and the spray of water on your face as you zoom across the waves. To me, jet skiing is just as therapeutic as writing and art, and it’s the perfect way to blow off steam and clear your mind.

If I had my way, I’d be out on the water every single day, forgetting about work and responsibilities, and doing donuts and catching air like a pro. Who needs a therapist when you’ve got a jet ski? It’s the ultimate stress reliever, and it’s way more fun than lying on a couch and talking about your feelings.

In fact, I love jet skiing so much that I even wrote about it in my book “Verses of Life.” One of my poems is all about the feeling of freedom and joy that comes with flying across the water on a jet ski. I believe that writing about my passions is a way to share my enthusiasm with others and inspire them to pursue their own interests.

Whether it’s writing, art, or jet skiing, finding something that brings you joy is what life is all about. So, if you’re looking for a new hobby, why not give jet skiing a try? Trust me, it’s impossible to be unhappy when you’re flying across the water like a boss. And if you need a jet ski buddy, well… let’s just say I’m your girl, even if I can’t swim!
